Aston Villa fans back Andre Green for big season

Andre Green has posted he is back in pre-season training with his Aston Villa teammates – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by showing their support for him.

The 20-year-old is a product of the club’s academy and made the step up to the first-team squad last season.

He spent the first half of the last campaign on loan with Portsmouth in League One, before returning to Villa in January and helping them achieve promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.

The right-winger has tremendous pace and trickery, which helped him force his way into Dean Smith’s senior plans last year.

Green posted on Twitter himself back in training and received a wave of positive messages from fans.

He’s never experienced top-flight football before in his career, but a selection of fans are confident that he can make the step up next year.

Green will have plenty of competition in wide areas for the new campaign, with new signing Jota from Birmingham someone that will be vying for his spot, as well as Jonathan Kodjia and Anwar El Ghazi.
