Aston Villa reportedly face missing out on Werder Bremen star Milot Rashica as the player has concerns about a possible relegation battle.
According to Fehmarn24, the Midlands club are ready to pay the player’s €25 million/£22.6 million asking price, but stand to be disappointed.

Rashica would supposedly not be opposed to moving to the Premier League, but does not want to be involved in a relegation battle, with Villa of course having survived by the skin of their teeth in 2019/20.
Werder themselves narrowly avoided relegation to the German second division in 2019/20.
RB Leipzig is apparently the player’s preferred destination, but the German side are unwilling to fork out the £22.6 million.
Given the situation, it is not unreasonable to suggest that Rashica could stay at Werder for another season, since he does have two years remaining on his contract.
TBR’s View – Alarm bells
If there is anything truth to Rashica’s position regarding a possible move to Villa, then the club should surely look elsewhere rather than throw any more money at the deal.

Villa could have a great season in 2020/21, but equally another relegation battle can’t be ruled out.
The club need players that are going to fight tooth and nail regardless of where the team is in the table, so perhaps Rashica can be crossed off the wanted list.
