Aston Villa haven’t had a dream return to the Premier League following their promotion from the Championship last season.
Boss Dean Smith has seen his team lose both of their opening two fixtures to Tottenham and Bournemouth.
The defeat against Spurs was tough to take having led for so long; whilst Saturday’s game against the Cherries saw them fight back from two goals behind, but ultimately fall short.
Smith has no fewer than 13 new players to blend into his squad and it may take Villa a few more weeks to get it right.
One of those new recruits is Douglas Luiz, who arrived at the club for £15 million from Manchester City (BBC Sport).
The 21-year-old announced his arrival at Villa Park with a stunning goal on Saturday. Following which he took to Instagram to sum up his feelings:
The Insta message to supporters translates to: “What pride to be in this great club! What weather, what a vibe, what a cheer! Unfortunately, it was not the result we wanted, but you can be sure that we will battle hard, the positive results will appear! #AVFC # DG6 “
After such a stunning strike which could well end up in the goal of the season competitions come the end of the season, the Villa media team put a video out featuring different angles of the goal.
Luiz retweeted this with a one-word message to supporters, which read:

Luiz didn’t pull up any trees at Girona on loan last season but already at Villa, he is showing supporters what he is all about.
The 21-year-old showed his credentials in the middle of the park for Smith’s team on Saturday.
He clearly has a burning desire to do well for his new charges and on his form so far he could be a massive player for Villa this season.
