Aston Villa star Bjorn Engels has revealed he is particularly impressed with how Douglas Luiz has started at the club.
The £15 million signing from Manchester City (BBC Sport) was handed his first start last weekend against Bournemouth, and announced himself by scoring a thunderbolt at Villa Park.
Despite a difficult first half, Luiz put in a decent performance against the Cherries and the likelihood of him retaining his place in the side for Friday’s clash with Everton is high.

Fans appear to like the look of the Brazilian, as does fellow new signing Engels, who has praised his quality.
He said, as quoted by The Birmingham Mail: “[Douglas] is a player with a lot of qualities. Technical qualities, you saw that in the game. His goal as well, amazing goal.
“I think he can play well, he’s a good player. It’s one of the most important positions on the pitch, he can control everything. It’s very important.”
TBR’s view
Luiz has definitely shown he has the potential to really grow into that holding midfield role.

He is certainly a talent, with Pep Guardiola and Tite both big admirers of the 21-year-old.
Engels is absolutely right that Luiz plays in one of the most important positions on the pitch, and Villa fans will be pleased to hear the positive assessment.
