Aston Villa could reportedly reignite their interest in Marcos Acuna in January, with Sevilla open to selling the defender.

According to Mucho Deporte, the La Liga side will welcome the sale of a 32-year-old left-back if a suitable offer is made, with Villa once again interested in signing Acuna.

And Villa remain keen on the defender, with Acuna a potential target for Unai Emery’s side as the Spanish manager looks to add more defensive depth to his ranks.

Indeed, with Acuna’s contract with Sevilla expiring in 2025, Villa could get an exceptionally good deal for the Argentine in January if the Premier League side were to make a renewed effort for the defender.

Moreover, with how Acuna’s time at Sevilla has unfolded in recent months, the 32-year-old might jump at the chance to sign for Villa, who are one of Europe’s most exciting clubs under Emery.

As per the report, Acuna’s time at Sevilla is all-but over having fallen out with senior members at the club, and the defender could be desperate to join a new team in January.

With Villa, for now, in the Premier League title race and doing well in Europe, the Villians could be a dream destination for Acuna this winter.

And with fellow La Liga exports flourishing under Emery at the club, it won’t take much to convince Acuna to make the move, with the defender an ideal versatile option in the market.

Exciting things are happening at Villa under Emery, and Acuna can’t be blamed for wanting to now be a part of this journey having won the World Cup last year with Argentina.
