Kortney Hause has posted a hugely encouraging update on Instagram as the Aston Villa defender continues to recover from an injury he suffered against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.
The 23-year-old has impressed since moving to Villa on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window. He has turned out 10 times for Dean Smith’s side.
He was a crucial part of the Villa side that began their excellent eight-match winning run. He played every minute of the wins over Derby County, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Blackburn.
But after 53 minutes of the 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday, Hause hobbled off the pitch. He posted an update on his Instagram story, reassuring fans that it is “not long” before he recovers.
Hause has shone for Villa since joining the club, and if Villa do get the chance to land him permanently, they must. Not only has he starred at centre-back, but he has also shone at left-back.
That versatility is crucial. Even if he is not a starter, he is an excellent defensive option to have on the bench as he can cover multiple positions if there is an injury – saving space for another substitute.
He is obviously surplus to requirements at Wolves and the chances are that he will leave Molineux this summer. Villa have to snap him up.
