Aston Villa made it eight wins in succession as they remained on course for a place in the Championship play-offs.

This victory was made sweeter considering the 2-1 win over Bristol City came against another team chasing the top six.

Goals from Tammy Abraham and Conor Hourihane had Villa Park rocking and Dean Smith’s team have momentum firmly on their side.

Anwar El Ghazi is currently on loan at Villa Park from Lille. Since the arrival of Dean Smith, he has been instrumental for the Villans.

The Dutchman looks every inch a quality player and a Premier League return might see Villa try and keep him permanently.

The 23-year-old was in decent fettle once again yesterday. His assist for Hourihane’s goal proved to be the matchwinner in a pivotal game of the season.

He now has five goals and five assists to his name and is a regular in the team.

Following the game, El Ghazi took to Twitter to rave about his team-mates and their current form.
