Watford are said to be closing in on a club-record deal to sign Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.
As recently reported by The Evening Standard, the Hornets are ready to step up their pursuit of the rapid 21-year-old who is now back with his club.
Rennes are looking for around £27 million for the Senegal international – who recently featured at the Africa Cup of Nations with his country.

It is thought Sarr agreeing personal terms will not be an issue.
The Watford Observer have published quotes from Rennes president Olivier Letang claiming Javi Gracia’s side are the only team showing real interest in the player.
One team that should certainly be joining Watford in the hunt for Sarr, is Everton.
TBR’s view
At £27 million, Sarr is well within Everton’s financial capabilities – especially with the club looking to cash in on the likes of Oumar Niasse, Yannick Bolasie and Kevin Mirallas.
Marco Silva desperately needs fresh impetus on his right wing, with the inconsistent Theo Walcott having reached his peak.

Ademola Lookman is said to be closing in on a permanent return to RB Leipzig (Evening Standard), so there is every need for a player like Sarr.
£27 million should be a hugely appealing price tag for a player with such exciting potential.
With 13 goals and 11 assists last season, Sarr would be a long-term coup for Everton.
