Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to pay €50 million (£45 million) to sign Ajax star Donny van de Beek this summer.

FCInterNews.it claim the Lilywhites are one of a number of teams keen on the up-and-coming Dutch youngster.

van de Beek, already a full Netherlands international, has seen his stock rise high this season, as have most of his teammates.

He has made an impressive 52 appearances across all competitions and scored 15 goals and made 11 assists.

He’s been a mainstay under Erik ten Hag and has struck up an amazing partnership with Frenkie de Jong in midfielder.

Tottenham will get the chance to look at him very closely on Tuesday night of course when the two teams face off in the Champions League semi-final, but perhaps their mind may already be made up.

If the north Londoners are indeed willing to bid, then it could mean Everton’s hopes are dead in the water.

TBR’s view

Everton were credited with an interest in van de Beek in March (Bleacher Report), but Tottenham’s interest could mean they miss out.

Spurs are looking like they could lose Christian Eriksen this summer, and Mousa Dembele is still yet to be replaced.

The demand is certainly there and so it will be interesting to see if they move for him.

Everton are facing their own uncertainties this summer, with Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye having both been linked with moves away from the club in recent months.
