According to Sky Sports, an £18 million deal has been struck between the two sides, but Nantes want Sala to play in one final game against Angers on Sunday.

The player is apparently just waiting on permission to fly to Wales and have his medical ahead of what would be a club-record transfer.

Sala has enjoyed a fine season over in the French league, scoring 12 goals with a further three coming in cup competitions.

His stock has risen high since the beginning of the season as things currently stand he has more league goals to his name this term than both Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

Cardiff appear to be onto a winner, and their possible gain is certainly one other Premier League club’s loss.

Sala is the striker Everton needed

On the verge of transferring for just £18 million, one has to wonder where Everton are in the midst of it all.

The Toffees are in dire need of a new striker, with Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse having not been good enough.

Marco Silva has elected to start Richarlison as his lone striker, suggesting a lack of faith in his other options.

It looks like Sala will end up at Cardiff which is huge for them and their survival hopes.

Sala is the striker that could have potentially gotten Everton back on track in the Premier League. He has demonstrated excellent prowess this term, and is especially useful in the air.
