Having made his long awaited Premier League debut, Juan Foyth may well be fearing losing his spot already against Chelsea as it emerged that Belgian international Jan Vertonghen is in contention having returned to fitness.
Yet the young Argentinean has done more than enough to justify his spot, having picked up the man of the match award on only his second appearance in the top flight against Crystal Palace, scoring the winner.
What’s more, he has since followed it up by collecting a man of the match award on his Argentina debut against Mexico as the 21-year-old continues to build up his reputation.

Vertonghen would clearly be more experienced at handling some of the tricky customers that Chelsea may throw their way this weekend and is unlikely to concede two penalties, as Foyth did when he struggled in the second half against Wolves on his Premier League debut.
However, to drop Foyth after such an impressive display at Selhurst Park would send the wrong message out to youngsters looking to break into the team and would contradict much of Mauricio Pochettino’s past actions with young players.
Pochettino has plenty of patience with youngsters and Foyth could not have a better coach to work with, but if the coach does not want to alter his 4-2-3-1 formation, he will have a decision to make at the back on Saturday evening.
