'As hard as it is to say': Rio Ferdinand makes Liverpool admission

Rio Ferdinand has admitted on his YouTube channel that he loves watching Liverpool play – as difficult as that is to concede.

The Reds are, most definitely, in the mix to win the Premier League title this season. Jurgen Klopp’s men currently sit second in the table, one point behind Chelsea.

It comes after Liverpool blew Watford away and won 5-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick, while both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane got on the scoresheet for the visitors.

It says a lot about Liverpool’s performance as a whole that Salah seemed to steal the show despite Firmino being the one to take home the match ball.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in 11 games at the start of this campaign. And after insisting that they are definitely contenders to win the league, Ferdinand admitted that he is begrudgingly loving what the Reds are serving up.

“I enjoy watching Liverpool. As hard as it is to say as a Man United man, I actually turn the TV on to watch Liverpool because they are an exciting team in all the ways that they play,” he told his YouTube channel. “High intensity, aggressive with and without the ball, and they score goals and create chances.”

Liverpool boast outrageous goalscoring record as Ferdinand tips Reds as title-contenders

It is frightening to see just how devastating Liverpool have been this season. In fact, Chelsea are the only team to stop the Reds scoring at least two goals.

Burnley and Manchester City are the only others to have conceded fewer than three.

Of course, that run is set to be under a lot of pressure this week. Atletico Madrid host the Reds in the Champions League on Tuesday.

But they do appear to have struck that lethal balance of scoring for fun while keeping a fairly impressive defensive record. They have five clean sheets in the top flight.

It is certainly going to take something special to deny this Liverpool side from getting their hands back on the title this year.
