Mikel Arteta has been speaking in his press conference as Arsenal prepare to take on Liverpool this weekend, following the international break.
The Gunners had a number of players away on international duty. Arteta now has to see who is fit enough to play, with question marks surrounding the likes of Aubameyang and Partey just two problems for the Spaniard.
Arsenal have been in fine form in recent weeks. A resurgence seems to be underway at the club, and some of Arteta’s summer signings are key to that increased performance level.

One of them, Aaron Ramsdale, got his England debut in midweek. He started the game alongside fellow Gunners, Bukayo Saka, and Emile Smith Rowe.
And speaking in his press conference, Mikel Arteta admitted while he was delighted for Smith Rowe and Ramsdale getting debuts, the full trio is doing the club proud.
“First of all I was surprised because it happened just after our game, but I was extremely happy for him. I know the expectation he had, a lot of talk around it, and he really enjoyed it. I saw him yesterday and he was delighted to score a goal for his country,” Arteta said on Smith Rowe.
“It is always special and he made us proud – not only him, but Bukayo and Aaron starting for the national team, I think it is a great sign for the club.”
TBR’s View: Arsenal have a core for the future with England trio
Throw in Ben White as well, and there are four young English players here who Arsenal can genuinely build around. All four are super talented, and will no doubt be around for some time.
Ramsdale has been the biggest surprise. The former Sheffield United stopper has enjoyed a meteoric rise. Smith Rowe and Saka, meanwhile, just seem to continue to improve.
The future is bright for Arsenal at the moment. This weekend’s game with Liverpool is a massive test. But if they come through it, then talk of a top four spot can well and truly gather pace.
