'Arteta is shaking': Some fans think 42-year-old could be Arsenal's next manager after he's spotted in London
Andrea Pirlo has been spotted in London, which has led to many fans linking him with the Arsenal job.
Pirlo in London
With Mikel Arteta under increasing pressure at Arsenal, Pirlo’s tweet saying he was in the capital led to wild speculation on social media.
The Italian boss was quickly inundated with supporters suggesting that he could be moving to Arsenal in his replies.
In truth it would be arguable whether Pirlo is even an upgrade on Arteta.
The two former midfielders are both in the infancy of their managerial careers, and it would be a surprise if Arsenal replaced Arteta with another rookie boss.
Pirlo didn’t have the greatest success in his first job, after being sacked by Juventus, after just under a year in charge.
If Arteta is to end speculation about his future, Arsenal are going to have to improve.
The Gunners are yet to collect a point in the Premier League and haven’t even scored a single goal so far.
Arsenal have been hampered by a difficult start, which has seen them take on Chelsea and Manchester City.
But the pressure will now really be on them to start picking up points at a steady rate after the international break.
Arsenal’s next game comes against newly promoted Norwich City in two weekends’ time.
