Arsenal have made a U-turn on Ainsley Maitland-Niles with the club rejecting a loan offer for the midfielder from Everton.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners have turned down the Toffee’s approach for the 24-year-old ace. The Athletic reported earlier in the day that Everton had made a loan-to-buy offer for Maitland-Niles.
With the midfielder unlikely to feature for the Gunners this season, it looked likely that Maitland-Niles would leave Arsenal for Merseyside. However, Mikel Arteta appears to have changed his mind.

As per the Mirror, Everton’s proposal has been rejected. And now the Hale End product could remain in north London after all.
Indeed, the England international has already taken to Instagram to give his thoughts on the issue. Maitland-Niles said: “All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play.”
The situation will no doubt get messy and it is another huge error from Arteta’s part in not allowing the 24-year-old to leave.

And on social media, fans were fuming with the decision for the midfielder to be allowed to leave for Everton. Maitland-Niles was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion last season.
