Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, refused to be drawn too much on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again been absent at Norwich today, insisting it was simply a selection decision again.
The Gunners hammered the Canaries 5-0 at Carrow Road. Martin Odegaard was once again in fine form, while Bukayo Saka and Alex Lacazette both got themselves on the scoresheet. There was no goal for Gabriel Martinelli, however, who has seized his chance lately in Aubameyang’s absence.
Aubameyang will be sat watching and wondering if there is a route back for him. And at the moment, given Arsenal’s form, it doesn’t seem like there is much hope for him. And speaking to the BBC after the game, Arteta said that he is simply taking things game by game with his now former captain.
“He wasn’t selected for today’s match. We’ll take it game by game. That was the decision,” Arteta said simply.

The future of the Gabon striker is under serious threat. He hasn’t played since a disciplinary breach saw him stripped of the captaincy. Further, clubs like Juventus and Barcelona are both said to be keen.
TBR’s View: Aubameyang Is Done At Arsenal
There is surely no way back for Aubameyang at Arsenal now? The team is playing better than ever, he is nowhere to be seen, and Arteta seems fully vindicated in his decision.
All eyes will now be on January you feel. It could be a case of Arsenal looking to get the very best deal possible from any interested club. Certainly, there doesn’t seem to be much hope for Aubameyang at the Emirates.
