James Maddison has emerged as the latest playmaker to be linked to Arsenal this summer. And it has got supporters excited.
Football London report that the Leicester City wizard is a target for the Gunners. Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in a creative midfielder this transfer window. Arsenal have already lost out on Emi Buendia and Martin Odegaard over the past few weeks.

But these links to Maddison have raised hope amongst fans that an incredible signing could just be around the corner. And recruiting the Leicester star has the potential to change Arsenal’s future for the better.
‘An incredible player’
Whilst a bid is yet to be submitted to the Foxes for their no. 10, the link over the past 24 hours has got many fans dreaming of a potential blockbuster signing.

Indeed, Maddison is one of England’s top talents, with the midfielder scoring 11 and assisting ten last season.
Labelled as ‘an incredible player’ by Pep Guardiola via the Manchester Evening News, Maddison would be a dream signing for Arsenal this summer. And if the Gunners can pull it off, it could save what has so far been a window to forget.

With Emile Smith Rowe the only creative midfielder at Arsenal, Maddison would be a significant improvement to the club’s options in that role. Since joining Leicester, the former Norwich City star has created 27 ‘Big Chances’, more than the likes of Jack Grealish and Bruno Fernandes.
Maddison can elevate Arsenal to the next level
Whilst injuries could be a concern for Arsenal supporters, Maddison only missed 11 games in all competitions last season.

And given the Gunners’ depth in the attacking midfield role in the form of Smith Role and fellow youngster Miguel Azeez, the England international can be granted a break without it causing too many problems.
Furthermore, Maddison has the quality and abilities needed to elevate Arsenal back to that next level of English football that the Gunners have failed to be at since 2016.

If Arsenal can pull off a deal for Maddison, it will no doubt be one of the coups of the summer. As well as a signing that will redeem Arteta and Edu Gasper for their failings so far this window.
