Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for Italian attacker Stephan El Shaarawy. According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Gunners are one of a handful of teams said to be inquiring about the availability of a player currently playing his football for Shanghai Shenhua in China.
It is reported that the mercurial attacker has been given permission to find a club back in Europe on loan.
Arsenal would undoubtedly be an interesting destination and is a player who the club have previously been linked with.
Indeed, if El Shaarawy was to end up at Arsenal, it would make their former manager Arsene Wenger very happy.

Back in 2012, Arsenal were being heavily linked with a move for the then AC Milan talent. At the time, the youngster was Serie A’s top goalscorer and considered one of the best young talents in world football.
Wenger was a massive fan of the player, and even confirmed as much.
“El Shaarawy is a very mobile, very technical young player. His philosophy fits perfectly with mine,” Wenger told Eurosport, as reported by the Daily Mail. “You never know. I just say I love the way he plays.”
But that was eight years ago and the forward has struggled with form and fitness in recent times. Undoubtedly, he is not the shark-haired prodigy that Wenger so openly coveted in 2012.
Arsenal fans would likely be left feeling disappointed if they made a move for the player, likely to be on massive wages, this summer.
