Arsene Wenger worked with some truly incredible players at Arsenal.
The likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires were all truly world-class players.
However, one of the most decorated players to ever work under Wenger at Arsenal is, strangely, Olivier Giroud.
The Frenchman has won almost all there is to win in football, he’s won league titles in France and Italy, the World Cup and the Champions League.
It’s impossible not to admire Giroud and what he has done in the game, and speaking to Goal, Wenger did note how much he admires the striker.
Wenger was asked to play a game of word association, and when Giroud’s name came up, he said that he has to take his hat off to the 37-year-old for what he managed to achieve.

The Gunners legend spoke about Giroud – who was actually the last player Wenger sold at Arsenal.
“Olivier Giroud?” Wenger was asked.
“You take your hat off to Giroud, you know,” Wenger said.
Legendary
Olivier Giroud has quietly established himself as a bit of a footballing legend.
He may never have been considered one of the best strikers in the world at any point during his career, but he’s continuously produced very special moments, he’s a World Cup winner and he’s also France’s all-time leading scorer.
Giroud has done so well, and while he may not be the most talented centre-forward to ever play the game, he’s certainly written himself into the history books with his ability to produce the spectacular and turn up in big moments throughout his career.
Whether you like it or not, Giroud has to be considered a true footballing legend.
