Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka has been hailed live on BeIN Sports by Arsene Wenger, after Switzerland’s win over France at Euro 2020 last night.
The Arsenal midfielder played a starring role on a night of drama at the international tournament yesterday.
Xhaka helped his nation pull off the upset of the competition so far, as they dumped out France on penalties.
Xhaka was superb throughout, and Wenger noticed the 28-year-old’s leadership qualities just before the spot kicks were taken.
Xhaka collected his teammates and gave a rousing speech, just before the stepped up to secure their country’s progress to the next round.
And Wenger only had praise for the Arsenal man after the game.
“He was exceptional, all his choices were good,” Xhaka said. “He was the one who rallied the troops before the penalties.”

A re-think at Arsenal?
Xhaka’s performance now throws up question marks over whether Arsenal should sell him.
Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly ready to cash in on the midfield star this summer.
However, his performance last night really did show the quality that Arsenal will have to replace if they let him go.
And for their asking price of £17 million (The Sun), it could be difficult to find another player of similar class.
