'Personally I would': Arsene Wenger has just made a massive Arsenal prediction
Arsene Wenger has been speaking about Arsenal and believes they are second only to Manchester City in terms of title hopes.
The Gunners remain top of the pile after seeing off Tottenham this weekend while City swept aside Manchester United 6-3, albeit it could have been more in the end really.
Of course, Arsenal’s form has seen talk of a title challenge surface. Mikel Arteta seems to have finally cracked things and there is a resilience about the Gunners not seen for some time. And speaking for BEIN Sports today, former manager Wenger believes Arsenal are right in the mix.
“Yeah personally I would put them right behind City. The second best team to have a chance to win the Premier League. Because Man City at some stage will focus highly on the Champions League,” Wenger said.
“And after we don’t know about Liverpool but they’re already 11 points behind. 10 points behind City is a mountain to climb. Chelsea doesn’t look as well consistent at the moment, they have not found the confidence. Tottenham by the way, by my DNA I cannot be dealing with.”
Wenger was the last manager to lead Arsenal to the title. The top four was the aim at the start of the season, but now there is a firm belief that more might be possible.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Have Genuine Title Hopes
Arsenal just need to keep winning. They cannot control what Manchester City do and there is a big chance for them this season.
Wenger makes a great point about the Champions League as well and Arsenal are right in there. If the Gunners can keep this form up and simply keep picking points up, then who knows where they’ll be come May.
