Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has lauded the impact of new signing Thomas Partey, insisting the Gunners didn’t have a player of his calibre until he arrived.
Partey was man of the match in his full debut in the week as Arsenal won out in the Europa League. The Ghanaian signed for Arsenal on deadline day, paying just shy of £50m to bring the Atletico man to north London.

And £250k-a-week star Aubameyang, who was speaking for the official matchday programme for Arsenal, has admitted he has been impressed with what he has seen so far from Partey.
“He is so strong physically but yet so good on the ball as well. We didn’t really have a profile like this in our squad before. In terms of ball progression, beating the press, going forward, he will be very important for us.”“He has integrated so well in the squad. He is kind, calm and smiley. On the pitch, we have already seen what he will bring us in matches.”

Few players can come into a top Premier League club and make an instant impact but Thomas Partey looks to be the sort of player who can do just that for Arsenal.
His performance in midweek was a fine display and Aubameyang is right in his assessment of what he will bring to the fold.
Arsenal have searched for years for a player in the mould of Patrick Vieira and in Partey, appear to have finally got their man.
