Arsenal on-loan midfielder Martin Odegaard has provided an update on the injury he received in last night’s World Cup qualifier.
The 22-year-old, who had been given the Norway captaincy, was in action against Gibraltar
Odegaard appeared to twist his right ankle in the first half and was subsequently replaced by Jens Petter Hauge at the break.

He picked up the problem five minutes before half time and was down for some time receiving treatment, though he played on for the rest of the half.
This concerned Arsenal fans, given how important the playmaker has become for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent weeks.
However, Norway boss Stale Solbakken says Odegaard’s injury is not serious.
Indeed, he’s optimistic that the player – who wore the captain’s armband against Gibraltar – could be fit for Saturday’s Group G clash with Turkey.
“It is not a serious injury,” Solbakken is quoted by The Mirror as saying. “I have big hopes that Martin will be fit for the game against Turkey on Saturday.”
And Odegaard himself added: “I twisted my ankle, but I think I will be fit for the game on Saturday.”
TBR View:
What a relief to hear that Odegaard appears to have merely suffered a knock, which shouldn’t keep him out for long.
He has become essential for the Gunners and fingers crossed he’ll come back to Colney fully fit and raring to go.
