Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira appears to be loving life at Atletico Madrid so far, casting doubt on the chances of him staying at the club beyond 2021.
The Uruguay international completed a move to the Wanda Metropolitano on international transfer deadline day.

Torreira had fallen down in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Arteta having preferred the likes of Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos in his midfield towards the end of 2020/21.
Torreira was farmed out to Atleti, and it appears the 24-year-old is already very settled in Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Ovacion Digital, he said: “I know I am a year on loan. I’ve been here for four or five days and it seems like it’s a lot, because I’ve been treated very well.
“It’s a new opportunity in my life, in which I have fought a lot, because Atletico has always been one of my dreams, one of my goals, and being able to achieve it at the age of 24 is very important.

“It all depends on how I go during the season, which I hope is very good. And maybe in the future I can stay at the club.”
£75,000-a-week star Torreira (Spotrac) has made his first appearance against Celta Vigo last weekend.
TBR’s View – Torreira comments are pretty ominous
Torreira’s comments would suggest that the player is already liking the idea of playing for Atleti permanently.
Not only did the player talk up the vibe around the club but he also spoke warmly about the manager Diego Simeone, which is always quite telling.
The player’s father recently suggested (Libertad Digital) that his son wasn’t really fancied by Arteta, and so a good season at Atletico is likely to see him push for a permanent exit even if Arteta does a U-turn.
