Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been putting his players through their paces ahead of their imminent return to Premier League action.

The Gunners last played on 23 January, when they played out a 0-0 stalemate with Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal endured a difficult January both on the pitch and in the transfer window.

On the pitch, the Gunners failed to win a single game and dropped out of both domestic cup competitions.

In the market, Arsenal lost 13 players, either on loan or permanently.

One of those was former captain and talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Just three players signed terms with the Gunners in January – an academy player and two summer arrivals.

Arsenal were in need of recharging their batteries and their warm-weather training camp in Dubai helped do just that.

Now, the Gunners are hoping to hit the ground running when they travel to Wolves on Thursday night.

Full-strength defence v Wolves?

While Arsenal may be lacking in numbers at centre-forward, they’ve certainly got everything right in defence.

Last summer, the Gunners brought in Nuno Tavares, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tavares has proven great competition for Kieran Tierney at left-back, while Tomiyasu has made the right-back berth his own.

And White has formed an amazing centre-back partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes.

With Aaron Ramsdale behind the back four, Arsenal certainly have an incredible back line.

On Wednesday, Tomiyasu, Gabriel, White and Tierney were photographed in training together.

It’s a great photo, one which shows how far Arsenal have come in a short space of time in terms of their defence.

And with all four players back in training, they’re likely to all be available against Wolves.

Obviously you could argue it’s not quite the perfect order if we’re being pedantic – Gabriel plays at LCB and White at RCB.

But the key thing is they’re all together in training and the likelihood they all start at Molineux is high.
