Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules is certainly making up for lost time having scored twice in as many league games since returning from injury last month.

The 19-year-old scored an equaliser in Doncaster Rovers’ defeat to Hull in midweek. And that cameo prompted Darren Moore to hand him a start at Northampton on Saturday.

Within 36 minutes, John-Jules had vindicated that decision. The Gunners loanee scored a superb goal by producing a delicious chip over the goalkeeper which trickled over the goalline.

Despite only making six appearances for the club in League One, he is now just one goal away from their top goalscorer. He also boasts, by far, the best minutes per goal ratio.

The teenager has averaged a goal every 151 minutes so far. And given that he spent several weeks on the sidelines, that is a remarkable return.

So it is no surprise that his latest tweet prompted supporters from both Arsenal and Doncaster to respond with messages of huge praise.

Donny fans are clearly hopeful that he can fire them into the top six in the near future. Meanwhile, the Arsenal supporters are backing John-Jules to make an impact with the Gunners upon his return to North London.
