Although a lot of attention is often dedicated to who Arsenal may buy in the future, the club does already have a rich array of young talent.

The Hale Academy is famous for helping build players like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe of late.

And although it sadly seems as if that popular duo may be split up in the summer, if Arsenal do indeed decide to let Smith Rowe go, the successes of the academy are there for all to see.

That being said, an academy graduate hasn’t quite left their mark on Mikel Arteta’s first team for quite a while now.

Arsenal have been on a sharp upward trajectory in the last few years, and while fans will forgive that that hasn’t allowed too many youngsters chances, they’ll hope that will soon change.

The likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly look destined for great things, and it’ll be fascinating to see when Arteta looks to involve them.

That being said, and although he’s still a little way behind the names mentioned above, Chido Obi-Martin looks like he’ll follow a similar path.

Young Arsenal talent Chido Obi-Martin says he’s getting better all of the time

16-year-old Obi-Martin is starting to build a big reputation in North London, a young striker who can’t stop scoring.

Obi-Martin, who already has nine goals in 11 games for Denmark’s under-17s, has been speaking to Danish media outlet Bold DK recently.

And as well as expressing his desire to stay at Arsenal for a long time, the young talent also outlined his intention to keep progressing.

He said: “I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time. It’s a good club, I can feel that I’m getting much better in training. Arsenal is a club that gives young talent the opportunity to play. There are a lot of good people & good coaches, so I’m really happy to be there.”

“Maybe I will have to play with the U21s permanently from next season. There aren’t that many strikers in the squad, so it will be a good opportunity for me.”

Obi-Martin has already agreed terms on a new Arsenal contract

Fortunately, as reported by The Standard, Ob-Martin will sign a professional contract with Arsenal when he turns 17 this year.

Arsenal will have been wary of losing such a talent, especially with their new focus on attracting the best young players to their academy.

Jack Wilshere has often complimented Obi-Martin whilst playing for his side in the past, and was particularly impressed after an 8-3 win against Crystal Palace this month.

Discussing his performance, Wilshere said: “I’m proud of the team because, for a striker to score four, he needs his teammates, his midfielders and defenders, but it’s the hardest thing in football and to do it four times as an under-16 in under-18s football takes some real personality.”

A big young talent, and Arsenal fans will be pleased he’s happy at the club following recent interest from Borussia Dortmund.

All that being said, one senior player also continued his excellent Arsenal form for his country last night.
