Arsenal are edging ever closer to their first summer signing with the Evening Standard reporting that Yannick Carrasco is close to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Belgian currently plays for Dalian Yifang and could move to North London for £25 million.
Carrasco moved to China in February 2018 but has expressed a firm desire to return to Europe this summer.
There are still a few obstacles to overcome before a deal can be secured but things are progressing nicely.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a lift this summer.
Boss Unai Emery saw his side thrashed in the Europa League Final by Chelsea, consigning his team to another season not playing Champions League football.
Wide players will definitely be on Emery’s agenda and Carrasco fits that bill.
Formalities of the deal remain undecided as of yet. Arsenal would prefer a season-long loan deal, given their restricted budget this summer.

Regardless of what sort of deal can be struck, Carrasco would improve the current squad.
The news of Carrasco’s potential arrival has split the fanbase, however.
Some believe him to be a quality addition and can’t wait to see him in action at the Emirates. They reacted on Twitter as follows:

Other, more cynical, Arsenal supporters aren’t too sure about Carrasco, however.
Certain fans believe that better alternatives should be identified, questioning whether the Belgian can still cut it after 18 months in a poor league.
