Arsenal are being linked with a move for Real Madrid youngster Vinicius Jr.

The Gunners are one of several teams from England named by (El Desmarque) as interested in the Brazilian, who joined los Blancos this summer in a £39 million deal (Sky Sports).

Vinicius has started just five league games under Zinedine Zidane this season and is currently finding opportunities hard to come by.

There have been claims that the former Flamengo man is struggling to adapt to life in La Liga.

It would appear at the moment that new signing Rodrygo Goes is getting more time on the pitch, which could see Vinicius depart.

The Gunners are perhaps an unlikely destination for the 19-year-old, and certainly them signing Vinicius would not be particularly good for one of their brightest current stars.

TBR’s view – Vinicius signing would affect Martinelli development

Arsenal would run the risk of interrupting the brilliant progress made by Gabriel Martinelli if they were to snap up Vinicius.

Martinelli has been a breath of fresh air for the north Londoners in what has been a disappointing season so far for the club.

He has shown a superb attitude and looks every inch like he’ll develop into a top player.

What will be key to that though is him playing regularly – Arsenal signing another left-winger in Vinicius would surely slow down their gem’s development.
