Journalist Charles Watts has now claimed that Arsenal would have sold Thomas Partey if they received the right offer for the midfielder last summer.
Watts was speaking on his Youtube Channel and was initially predicting the future of Partey at Arsenal.

And when he considered the club’s position in the summer, he said that Arsenal would have accepted the right deal.
Watts said: “I would say right now, if I had to predict, look into my crystal ball and predict for the future, Partey – wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was sold in the summer.
“Given he’ll only have a year left on his contract, given his age, given his injury situation.
“If a decent offer arrives for Thomas Partey in the summer I think Arsenal will almost certainly, probably consider it.
“They definitely would have considered it last summer but a decent offer didn’t arrive so he stayed.”
Of course, Partey’s bad luck with injury has caused a ton of speculation over his future at Arsenal.
A world-class player on the pitch, but one that is missing too often to be integral to Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Watts says Arsenal would have sold Partey at the right price last summer
As a result of Partey’s unavailability, Arsenal are now being linked with some notable replacements in the transfer windows to come.
Former Premier League star Ruben Neves is now said to be someone of interest for Arsenal.

And there is also the reported long-standing admiration for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz – who incidentally wasn’t the Villa player that Gabriel Magalhaes was recently praising.
It’s clear that Arsenal do still have some considerable moves to make to continue to progress the squad available to Arteta.
A striker is often touted as the next piece of the puzzle in North London, however, a world-class player to sit in the pivot may be better needed.
And with Watts now suggesting that Partey is likely to leave Arsenal next summer, that opportunity may arise.
£200k-a-week Partey is the exact player that Arsenal require for their midfield, but his injuries are now making him slightly untenable to plan around.
