Arsenal are reportedly pursuing Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu ahead of the summer window and are looking to agree a deal before Euro 2020 begins in June – landing the Turkish teen would be stunning business, for the reported price tag.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsenal want to lure the 19-year-old midfielder to north London at the end of the season. It is believed Mikel Arteta wants to get a deal wrapped up for the Feyenoord ace before this summer’s competition kicks off.
Born in the Netherlands, Turkey under-21 cap Kokcu is likely to be playing at this summer’s tournament as he continues to shine for Europa League side Feyenoord. His excellent form has made him one of the first names on the team sheet.
That is despite a change in manager – with Jaap Stam being replaced by Dick Advocaat. Kokcu now has 29 appearances to his name in all competitions, largely featuring as aa box-to-box central midfielder. He has netted three goals, and created four.

Arsenal need central midfielders, and ones that can create too – with Dani Ceballos likely to return to Real Madrid at the end of his loan and Mesut Ozil’s future in serious doubt, given his astronomical wages, and disappointing performances.
That leaves Arsenal with just Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in midfield, but none of those are considered for their creativity from deep. Indeed, they are more inclined to sit in front of the back four.
Arteta needs a midfielder who can make late runs, score the odd goal and create. Kokcu, who has now been involved in 15 goals during his 41 senior Feyenoord appearances, would be the perfect addition.
What would make such a move prove to be a jaw-dropping bit of transfer business, is that his price tag is a relatively low £15million. Landing a player of that age, that quality and that resale value for such a small price, would be a superb signing.
