Arsenal are ramping up their efforts to sign a new striker this summer but could be forced into missing out on one to get the other, it seems.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal have a definite interest in signing Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen. Along with Newcastle and Manchester United, it’s claimed the Gunners are huge admirers of the Nigerian speedster.

Now, Arsenal’s interest in Osimhen is nothing brand new. We’ve already reported on TBR how the Gunners like the ‘phenomenal’ Osimhen, who is thought to be worth at least £77m to Napoli.

However, in what could be a twist of fate and bring Arsenal into a three-way scramble, Pedulla also reports how Napoli have eyes on Southampton striker, Armando Broja. The Chelsea loanee has enjoyed a stellar first full season in the Premier League, and as we know, he’s another who has caught the eye of Arsenal’s scouting team.

On the surface, it appears if Arsenal want Osimhen then they might have to forgo a pursuit of Broja. With Napoli keen on a replacement for their explosive Nigerian, it’s hard to see them selling to the Gunners if they believe Mikel Arteta will go for Broja as well.

TBR’s View: Osimhen Over Broja All Day For Arsenal

Both are excellent young strikers who can offer something Arsenal don’t currently have. However, the Gunners need proven goals and ability in the here and now, and Osimhen has the edge here.

Broja has shown in recent months how raw he still is. The goals have dried up a lot and another season out on loan from Chelsea might be the best course of action for him.

In regards to Osimhen, he fits into Arsenal in many ways. He’s quick, strong, knows where the net is, and fits the bill in terms of the age of player Mikel Arteta likes to sign.
