Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio spoke to Sky Sports yesterday about rumours linking Arsenal with a move for Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski.

Tutto Juve revealed a couple of weeks ago that the Gunners are really interested in signing the versatile Swede. The report even claimed that Nicolas Pepe could be used in the deal to sign Kulusevski in January.

Those rumours quickly quietened down, but di Marzio has an update now that could really excite Arsenal supporters ahead of the January transfer window.

Here’s what the highly-respected Italian journalist said last night…

Could Centre-Forwards Become Extinct?

Di Marzio: Arsenal want Dejan Kulusevski

Asked on Sky Sports if the Juventus attacker will join either Arsenal or Tottenham in January, Di Marzio said: “Arsenal want him.

“The first contacts with the agents (have been made). Juventus bought him for €35 million (£30 million) plus bonuses. So, it depends on how much Arsenal want to invest on this player.

“But, I know that the first contacts have been made by the parties.”

TBR View:

Kulusevski is a fantastic talent. He can play on the right flank, as a number 10 and even as a second striker when required. He is one of the most talented players in Italy, but things aren’t working out for him at Juventus.

The 21-year-old Swede has been handed just a little under 600 minutes of football this season. That’s not enough at all, and that is probably why his agents are speaking to clubs to find a solution in January.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal will make a move for Kulusevski next month. He certainly fits the profile that the Gunners are looking for, and if they can get him in a swap deal that would see Pepe move the other way, it could prove to be a very shrewd move by Edu and Arteta.
