Arsenal urged to sign £100m ‘game-changer’ if they sell Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal have been told to move for a £100m-rated player if they manage to offload Eddie Nketiah this summer.

The England international has been linked with a move away from north London for weeks, with Arsenal recently rejecting a bid from Olympique Marseille for Nketiah as talks continue to sell the striker this window.

Whilst the likes of Darren Ambrose have suggested that Nketiah should stay at Arsenal, moving on the forward for a good fee could open a lot of potential doors for the north London side in the market, especially with Mikel Arteta interested in signing an attacker.

And Don Hutchinson has now suggested one top player for Arsenal to move for this summer.

Arsenal suggested to move for Victor Osimhen if Nketiah leaves

Speaking on ESPN FC, the pundit suggested that Arsenal could move for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Nketiah, with the Nigerian international regarded as one of the best attackers in world football.

Hutchinson said about Osimhen potentially joining Arsenal this summer: “This guy is a game-changer. The trouble is when you look at Napoli’s situation, you see Victor Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia, they are both valued at £100m each or even more. It’s not really the market for teams now with PSR to spend that amount of money.

“So, if Arsenal do get him, they are going to be have to be clever. When I watch this guy play, he moves the needle so much, he is so good. He probably gets in every team. The trouble is with PSR. But if Arsenal are clever, you know, they have moved Emile Smith Rowe onto Fulham for good money, Nketiah might leave, so Arsenal, could easily generate between £50m or £60m by selling some fringe players.

“Then all of a sudden, if Osimhen is £100m, you are only £40m or £50m away from buying a world-class number nine who is going to guarantee you goals, who is never really injured too much.”

Replacing Nketiah with Osimhen could be a dream solution for the Gunners

Arsenal have been linked with Osimhen for quite some time, with the north London side clearly interested in signing the Napoli superstar as part of the attacking overhaul this summer.

And if Nketiah is to leave for a good fee in the coming weeks, replacing the England international with Osimhen could be a dream solution for Arsenal, with the Nigerian superstar perfect for Arteta’s system.

Indeed, it could take a club-record fee to bring Osimhen to the Emirates Stadium, but the signing could be the one that firmly bridges the gap between Arsenal and Manchester City, something the Gunners are trying to do this summer.
