TBR View: Arsenal future rests on this transfer window

Some of the Arsenal first-team took a bit of a battering from parts of the media last season. The semi-final exit to Villarreal in the Europa League didn’t help.

However, the squad has more talent than people give them credit for.

Kieran Tierney and Gabriel Magalhaes have been a superb additions to the left-side of defence.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a regular source of goals since his move in January 2018.

And youngsters Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe were the shining lights last year.

Thomas Partey hasn’t necessarily impressed on a consistent basis, however, he has shown his quality. His man-of-the-match performance away at Manchester United was a display of his world-class ability.

Whilst five signings may seem like little to some parts of the Emirates Stadium faithful, it’s enough.

There’s reason to be cheerful ahead of the start to next season. The mixture of new signings, current players and no European football proves to be a brilliant mix.

Arsenal should have lofty ambitions for next year and with a few additions could well go above and beyond.
