A report by De Telegraaf has claimed that Arsenal target Teun Koopmeiners was a fan of the Gunners as a child. The AZ Alkmaar star has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
It is claimed that Atalanta also want him, but the latest suggestions are that he might prefer a move to Arsenal.
Koopmeiners is a defensive midfielder and last season he scored 15 goals and registered five assists in the Eredivisie during 2020/21.

That sort of form has earned him rave reviews, but sadly for AZ Alkmaar, it has also alerted other clubs.
Koopmeiners is the current captain of the Dutch outfit and they’ll want to receive a good deal for his services.
The 23-year-old is thought to be available for around £17 million and Arsenal are among a clutch of clubs keen to sign him.
No decision has yet been made by Koopmeiners though and it’ll be interesting to see if the Gunners do make a concrete move for the player.
Future star: Arsenal should go all out for Koopmeiners
Mikel Arteta will definitely want to try and add a midfielder or two to his ranks this summer. Granit Xhaka could leave, whilst Dani Ceballos is back at Real Madrid.
Koopmeiners would be a sound investment in the future. At 23 he has bags of time to continue improving and with reports claiming he loved Arsenal as a child, he’d surely welcome the move.

It’s imperative the Gunners strengthen this summer. They were awful at times during 2020/21 and can’t afford another eighth-place finish this time around.
Koopmeiners could be just the player to take them to the next level.
