Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac is keen for the Gunners to terminate the final year of his contract. Fenerbahce are interested in the player, whilst Bundesliga clubs are also keen, according to Fanatik.

Kolasinac spent the second half of last season on loan with Schalke. He played 18 games for the Bundesliga outfit but was unable to prevent them from slipping to relegation.

Kolasinac signed for Arsenal on a free transfer in 2017. He was Arsene Wenger’s first signing of that particular summer and was seen as a decent addition.

Things haven’t quite worked out for him in North London. He has made 113 appearances for the club in four years and has failed to really make a massive impression.

With Kieran Tierney making a massive impact at the Emirates Stadium, he has slipped down the pecking order. Nuno Tavares arriving at the Gunners further decreases his chances of game time for Arsenal.

Kolasinac clearly knows that and he wants the club to terminate his deal. He currently earns £100,000-a-week in the capital and getting that off the budget would be ideal.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to add more quality to his squad. As a result, it seems an ideal time for the boss to get him off the budget.

The time is right for Arsenal cut ties with Kolasinac

For too long Arsenal have settled for mediocrity and that simply won’t do anymore.

Not qualifying for Europe needs to give Arsenal the kick up the backside they need in order to start progressing the club again.

That means that players like Kolasinac need to be deemed surplus to requirements and offloaded this summer.

If the defender wants out of his contract then Arsenal shouldn’t stand in his way and letting him go looks like a strong decision to make.
