Arsenal transfer news: PSG interested in both Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba
Arsenal are aiming to win their first Premier League title in 20 years after storming into an eight-point lead at the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s men have been exceptional so far and while their early season success has been down to consistent team performances, some of their players have really stepped it up a notch.
Martinelli and Saliba certainly fit into that category as the pair have played a pivotal part in Arsenal’s rise to the top of the table.
But it seems that their performances aren’t going unnoticed by Europe’s top clubs, with PSG now said to hold an interest in signing the pair.
PSG want to sign Martinelli and Saliba
Media Foot reports that the Arsenal duo have become targets of PSG’s football advisor Luis Campos.
Campos is know to have a keen eye for emerging talents and the Gunners certainly boast some of the brightest youngsters in world football right now.
The outlet claims that PSG are keeping an eye on Saliba and Martinelli ahead of possible bids this month.
The Ligue 1 outfit feel that it will be too late to snap up the duo up the summer and Campos is keen to sign a central defender with his pursuit of Inter Milan’s Skriniar stalling.
If PSG are unable to sign Skriniar, they could turn their attention to Saliba – who is yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal and has just over 18-months left on his contract.
Martinelli is also in a similar situation in terms of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and he will certainly be a target for Campos over the next two transfer windows, the outlet notes.
Arsenal won’t be too worried about PSG’s interest in Martinelli and Saliba just yet, especially as the duo seem more than happy at the club.
Saliba has only just returned from a loan spell with Marseille and the 21-year-old has already made a huge impact in the first-team. ESPN reports that the Gunners are set to discuss a new contract with the Frenchman in the coming weeks.
Likewise, Martinelli has publicly declared how happy he is at the Emirates on multiple occasions and 90 Min reports that he is the closest player to agreeing a new deal with the club.
