Arsenal are continuing to pursue a deal for Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic, with reports suggesting the Gunners are ‘ready’ with a £65m bid for the Serbian.

Vlahovic continues to shine for Fiorentina this season. He’s already smashed in 15 in 17 in all competitions for the Italian side. Indeed, he is closing in on Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of Serie A goals scored in a calendar year. Vlahovic is on 30, just three behind the record set by Ronaldo previously.

And now, according to SportMediaSet, Arsenal are ready and waiting with a huge bid of around £65m to try and land Vlahovic in January. The report claims the Gunners want to convince the Serbian of their project. However, there is interest from elsewhere, including the likes of Juventus.

Arsenal are looking to bring in a new striker for the long-term. Alex Lacazette is expected to leave. Meanwhile Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to struggle. Coincidentally, a £65m deal for Vlahovic would eclipse the whopping £56m the Gunners paid for ‘Auba’ in 2018.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Would Send Message With Dusan Vlahovic Signing

If the Gunners went into January and spent over £60m on one player – granted a brilliant player in Vlahovic – then it would be a huge statement. For all the pressure put on the Kroenke’s, they did spend circa £120m in the summer and if they spent another £65m on Vlahovic, few could complain.

In terms of signing a striker to be your main man for years to come, Arsenal can’t really do much better. The Serbian is outstanding. And his form is exceptional as well. He is the full package. And the stats back up the hype.

Arsenal fans, then, would love Vlahovic. The addition of a proper, quality striker would be a difference maker. And while January is notorious for being hard to do business in, the Gunners seem ready.

If Edu pulls this one off, then the red half of North London will be loving life.
