Arsenal transfer: Gunners must rival Leicester for 17-goal winger - TBR View
Leicester City are rivalling AC Milan for the signing of Domenico Berardi. Arsenal, however, must enter the race to secure the Italy international.
Mikel Arteta will go in search of new playes this summer. His team finished eighth last season and that simply won’t do next season.
Berardi would be an attractive signing for any Premier League club. He is typically a right winger and a goal machine to boot.
During 2020/21 he captained Sassuolo and his goal contribution statistics were sensational. He scored 17 goals and claimed eight assists during 30 appearances.
His record full stop with the Serie A outfit is good. In 291 appearances he’s found the net 105 times and registered 67 assists. From the wing, that makes for pretty steady reading.
Football Italia claims that Leicester fancy him. AC Milan will rival them but Arsenal have to seriously consider throwing their hat into the mix.
The Gunners struggled badly in the final third during periods of last season. As a result, Arteta will surely want to strengthen when it comes to creative options.
Berardi would enhance Arsenal’s wide options, whilst he also chips in with a decent amount of goals from wide areas.
Berardi has five goals in 14 caps for Italy and has claimed a couple of assists during Euro 2020. As a result, his valuation will be going up in the minds of Sassuolo.
He is quick, direct, loves taking players on and also works himself into the ground for the cause of the team.
Berardi would add some real star quality to the Arsenal ranks. If he hits the ground running he has the quality to really illuminate the Emirates Stadium.
Leicester might be in pole position, but Arsenal have to dip deep to sign the £61,000-a-week Berardi during the summer transfer window.
