Arsenal are reportedly set to allow multiple first-team players to leave the club this summer in an attempt to raise funds to make new signings in the transfer window.

According to football.london, the Gunners will move on the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Eddie Nketiah and Matteo Guendouzi this summer, with the report stating that ‘at least four’ Arsenal players in the senior squad will be sold, with Mikel Arteta said to be keen on making Martin Odegaard a permanent member of the club after an impressive loan spell in north London this campaign.

The report also states that the likes of Lucas Torreira and Sead Kolasinac will also be moved on once the summer window opens for business, with Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos also a player who could potentially leave the Emirates for good following an impressive season on loan at Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

Arsenal have endured one of their worst seasons in recent memory, with the club likely to finish midtable in the Premier League standings and a triumph in the UEFA Europa League also looking unlikely with the Gunners set to play Villarreal in the semi-finals this week, with Manchester United on the other side of the bracket.

TBR View: Arsenal need to be intelligent with summer sales

It would be an understatement to say that Arsenal need a major squad overhaul this summer, yet whilst several players could do with heading out the exit door, Arteta needs to ensure that the names who do leave are ones that the club won’t end up regretting in a year or two.

Indeed, Arsenal are better off with many players in their squad, but in regards to the likes of Guendouzi, Maitland-Niles and Mavropanos, three youngsters who have good potential, the Gunners need to ensure that if they are 100% set on selling these names for good fees and with the insurance that they won’t be regretting letting them move on should they depart north London this summer.
