Arsenal will be without Kieran Tierney for the weekend clash with Leeds United, with the Gunners confirming the Scot will play no part against the Whites.

Along with Thomas Partey, Tierney is still not considered fit enough to play a role in the game. However, in something of a bittersweet moment for Mikel Arteta, there is good news in that Tierney is aiming to be back training next week.

The former Celtic man has been in fine form for the Gunners this season at left-back and sometimes, left centre-half. However, as confirmed by Sky Sports, he will play no part as Arsenal welcome Leeds to The Emirates this weekend.

Tierney will be desperate to get back involved for the Gunners. The team are currently in the midst of a mini slump, meaning the likes of Tierney and Partey coming back would be a huge boost.

Mikel Arteta, then, will hope to simply get through the Leeds game unscathed and with a positive result, before seeing Tierney at least come back into the fold next week.

TBR View: Big shame for Arsenal this, Tierney is one of their best players

Tierney was just building up some nice form and momentum for the Gunners so it’s a real shame he’s out injured.

Mikel Arteta will be well aware his side are weaker without the Scot. Of course, it’s good news he is coming back next week but for a game against a team in fine form like Leeds, Tierney would have been ideal.

Arsenal simply need to focus on a good result this weekend. They have the players, it’s just a case of if they can turn up and do the job.
