Arsenal will be in the market for a new striker at some point.
The Gunners need a centre-forward who can consistently put the ball into the back of the net, and they have been linked with a number of players who can do just that.
The two players who have been most strongly linked in this position are undoubtedly Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
The two strikers have been the subject of non-stop speculation when it comes to a move to Arsenal, and according to Chris Wheatley, speaking on ShotsTV, Arsenal believe internally that Toney is the player they’re more likely to sign out of these two.

Toney more likely to sign than Osimhen
Wheatley shared what he knows about the ‘world class’ striker and Osimhen.
“Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney are the two names on everyone’s lips at the moment, they are the hottest strikers in Europe. I do feel that Osimhen is one level above Toney. Toney, Arsenal do really like him and they see him as more achievable in potentially signing him than Osimhen who has a huge release clause,” Wheatley said.
Much easier
It’s not surprising to hear that Arsenal think Toney will be more attainable than Osimhen.
Let’s be real here, there’s a big difference between negotiating with Brentford and negotiating with Napoli.
The Bees are minnows compared to the Italian champions and they have nowhere near as much leverage or power in a transfer window.
Napoli are known for being very tough negotiators. They’ve hung onto Osimhen for this long for a reason, and they probably won’t let him go in the summer without a fight.
Toney may well be the easier signing out of these two, but whether or not he’d be the better signing is up for debate.
Keep an eye on any movement on the Toney front over the next few months.
