Arsenal haven’t been that busy in the transfer market this summer, making just one major signing so far.

With just two weeks left in the window, Arsenal have work to do, and luckily, it does sound as though the north London club are going to be active.

Indeed, Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Real Sociedad midfielder, Mikel Merino.

The Spanish midfielder is said to be one of Arsenal’s top targets, and the Gunners are apparently very happy with the deal they could do here.

Indeed, according to GiveMeSport, Arsenal believe that they could be getting Merino for a bargain fee.

Arsenal believe Mikel Merino could be a bargain

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal are optimistic that a deal could be done for Merino at £25m.

Arsenal believe this would represent a bargain for Merino.

This deal sounds as though it should get done. After all, Merino has reportedly agreed personal terms to join Arsenal already.

This move seems to be heading in the right direction, and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if Merino became an Arsenal player in the coming days.

£25m is a bargain for Mikel Merino

Arsenal believe that £25m is a bargain for Mikel Merino, and they’re not wrong.

Indeed, that sort of fee for a Euro 2024 winning midfield player is a really decent price.

Yes, Merino isn’t the most glamorous name in the world, but he’s proven at the top level in both the Champions League and top international competitions.

The transfer market throws up some ridiculous prices these days, as unproven players often move for north of £40m, but now, Arsenal are potentially getting someone who has been there and done it at the top level for just £25m.

This could be a very smart move from the Gunners as they look to challenge for the Premier League title again this season.
