If Arsenal had scouts watching Bayer Leverkusen’s weekend clash with Fortuna Dusseldorf, then they would have been impressed with what they saw.
Bayer Leverkusen beat Fortuna 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Sunday with two Arsenal targets getting on the score-sheet.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the first-half and Leon Bailey confirmed the victory with a second-half strike.
Arsenal have been linked with both players in the past and their weekend performances only enhance their chances of earning a move to North London.
Calcio Mercato have recently claimed that Arsenal are eyeing Havertz as a Mesut Ozil replacement.
The 19-year-old has chalked up a stunning tally of 12 goals and five assists in 27 Bundesliga and Europa League games for Leverkusen this season.
And with two Germany caps already under his belt, the future looks bright for the teenage sensation.
Bailey has also been linked with the Gunners. Several news outlets, including The Sun, reported Arsenal’s interest in summer 2018.
And the Jamaican winger’s tally of three goals and three assists could convince them to reignite that interest.
Arsenal scouts would have been impressed by the talented 21-year-old, who sealed the points with a 66th minute strike against Fortuna.
Both Bailey and Havertz are impressive talents and they showcased their respective abilities on Sunday.
