Thomas Partey has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal and he’s told Prime News Ghana of three Premier League players who were his idols.
The Ghana international could move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, with several reports claiming interest from the Gunners.
Partey has been one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe at Atletico Madrid, with interest coming as no surprise.

Now, the 25-year-old has claimed that his three idols when he was making his way in the game were all former Premier League stars.
Yaya Toure, brother of former Arsenal defender Kolo, was one of the three with Liverpool and Chelsea favourites the other two.
Partey told Prime News Ghana: “As a child, I watched many Premier (League) matches. I saw a lot of Gerrard, then Yaya Toure or Essien.
“Any African football in my position wants to be like them.”
Partey played 30 games in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos and will now gear up to help them in the Champions League.
He was instrumental as Diego Simeone’s men knocked out Liverpool in the last 16, catching the eye of potential suitors.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperate for reinforcements this summer. For many years, the Gunners have lacked a midfield general and Partey could buck that trend.
An eighth-placed finish wasn’t ideal for Arsenal and leave the Spanish boss plenty of work to do next season.

If he can convince Partey to join the Gunners it would go a long way towards helping him achieve his goals.
The fact that the midfielder’s idols have all played in the Premier League might hint that Partey is keen to test himself in England too.
Arsenal can only hope, at least, that is the case.
