Arsenal target William Saliba has emerged as a potential transfer target for Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The highly rated young Frenchman caught the eye with some superb performances for Saint-Etienne in 2018/19, and his card has been marked by some of Europe’s top sides.

The player’s agent has allegedly been spotted in Manchester (reported by The Metro), and speculation has been rife about a potential transfer to Old Trafford.
United are understood to be after defensive reinforcements this summer after a dismal campaign.
With Saliba seemingly on the Red Devils’ radar, it could mean that Arsenal’s reported pursuit of Eric Bailly will be made easier.
TBR’s view
Arsenal have been linked frequently with a move for Bailly this year, with the Ivorian way down in the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival midway through 2018/19, Bailly’s game time didn’t really increase.

If Solskjaer signs Saliba, which might be tricky with Saint-Etienne reportedly wanting a loan back option as part of any deal (via football.london), then Arsenal may feel more hopeful of landing Bailly.
United supposedly want to recoup what they paid Villarreal for him (£30 million, The Metro) but there could be some room for negotiation if the talented 18-year-old joins them permanently.
While Arsenal may be keen themselves over Saliba, experienced and athletic defender Bailly wouldn’t be a bad alternative.
