Reported Arsenal target Evan Ndicka was a ‘rock at the back’ for Eintracht Frankfurt against Marseille in the Champions League last night.

The 23-year-old Frenchman has been in the news a lot lately. He has been linked with plenty of clubs, but none more than Arsenal, who are reportedly interested in signing him in 2023 (Il Romanista).

His display last night showed why.

Ndicka, still only 23, is a fine defender. He has been brilliant for Frankfurt over the years and played a big part in helping them win the Europa League last season.

The defender has been a regular for the German side this term as well, having played every single game in the Bundesliga and Champions League so far.

Ndicka started against Marseille yesterday and he was brilliant. He was mostly solid at the back, and although Arsenal old boy Matteo Guendouzi managed to find the net, it was the Frankfurt star who came out on the winning side.

GFFN rated all the players who played in the game between Frankfurt and Marseille yesterday, and although Ndicka was only given a 6/10, the outlet heaped praise on his display.

“A rock at the back for Frankfurt, and did well to limited Marseille’s attacking chances despite the French side having a high amount of possession, especially in the second half of the game,” GFFN wrote

Arsenal’s only left-footed centre-half at the moment is Gabriel Magalhaes.

He is a quality player in his own right, but because Mikel Arteta doesn’t have a natural alternative, the Brazilian has had to play every single game bar one in all competitions this season.

Ndicka, who is 6ft 4in tall, would be a fine option for the Gunners. The Frenchman has entered the final year of his contract, and he could be available for a bargain fee in the January transfer window.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Ndicka, but he really does check most boxes for Arsenal.
