Arsenal target Daniel Podence destroyed Tottenham in the Champions League

Daniel Podence has scored twice this season.

Arsenal are reportedly keen on Olympiacos winger Daniel Podence – who has already enjoyed success against Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Unai Emery continues his recruitment drive at The Emirates Stadium. And Podence is a player who has proven he can perform against Premier League opposition. His display against Tottenham earlier this season might just convince Arsenal to take a gamble on him.

Arsenal want Podence

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Arsenal are tracking Podence, who could cost up to £21.5m. Arsenal have already started to discuss this potential transfer with Olympiacos.

Podence currently plays in the Greek Super League and has two goals in 14 games this season. The 23-year-old winger has been with Olympiacos since summer 2018, scoring 10 times in 55 games for the club after joining from Sporting CP.

Podence showed his talent on the big stage earlier this season when Olympiacos hosted Tottenham. The Portuguese winger gave the Spurs defence a torrid time and scored a well-deserved goal.

This capped a magnificent individual performance. It also inspired Olympiacos’ comeback from 2-0 down to 2-2. Podence’s performance against Spurs will already please most Arsenal fans and he could now be moving to North London.

What would Podence add?

Podence is unpredictable but his flair makes him an exciting prospect. He primarily operates from the right-wing but he is equally comfortable on the opposite flank.

Offering goals and assists, the diminutive winger could be a wildcard signing that pays off for the Gunners. He would need to quickly adapt to the demands of English football but he has the potential to reach the top.
