Yannick Carrasco has said he wants to return to Europe from China this summer, according to the Sun.
The former Atletico Madrid winger now plays for Dalian Yifang, with whom Arsenal reportedly failed to agree a loan deal in January.
But the Gunners still need improvements out wide going into Unai Emery’s second season in charge and Carrasco’s comment should interest the Spaniard.
He said: “I would love to return to Europe. A lot of clubs were interested in me. We tried to find a solution in January that would enable me to leave Dalian Yifang.
“But I can understand the club’s thinking. They wanted me to stay. I still feel OK in China. But I have lost my starting place in the Belgian national side. This can happen with a team of their quality.”

Carrasco is a hard-working, pacy winger who still has a lot to offer and his desire to return to European football should be of great interest to Arsenal.
He fits the mould of what Emery wants from his players and Carrasco’s time under Diego Simeone at Atletico means he is no stranger to doing the running and dirty work that the Spaniard will demand.
He will be a player looking to earn a spot in Belgium’s Euro 2020 side, which could add an extra layer of motivation.
